Silver Jubilee Scholarship Scheme for Post-Graduate Courses,
Scholarships for M.Sc (Agriculture) Course and Self Financing and
Scholarship Schemes for Diploma in Engineering 2003-2004
Notice

Embassy of India, Kathmandu invites applications on prescribed data-sheet from Nepalese nationals desirous of pursuing:

(I) Post- Graduate Courses for the academic year 2003-04 in Indian Universities/ Institutes under Silver Jubilee Scholarship Scheme introduced to mark the 25th anniversary of the accession to the throne of late His Majesty King Birendra Bir Bikram Shah Dev. All Post- Graduate Degree Courses except Engineering, Agriculture and Medicine will be covered under this Scheme, including limited number of seats for MBA/MCA/LLM. Applicant should be 30 years or less as on July 01, 2003, should have a minimum 60% aggregate at bachelor level examination from a recognised University/ Institute, and minimum 60% marks in English as one of the subjects at Class XII level examination. Subjects taken in bachelor level should be compatible with subject of post graduation covered under Scholarship.

(II) M.Sc (Agriculture ) course in Indian institutes for the academic year 2003-04. Applicants should be 25 years or less as on July 01, 2003 and should have a minimum 60% aggregate marks in B.Sc (Agriculture) and 50% in English in Class XII, and

(III) Diploma course in Engineering under Self- Financing and Scholarship Scheme for the academic year 2003-04. Applicants should be between 17 to 22 years as on July 01, 2003, and should have a minimum 60% marks in PCM (Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics) and minimum 50% in English in Class XII.

Only those candidates who have passed their Bachelor- level examination need apply for Post-Graduate courses under Silver Jubilee Scholarship Scheme and M.Sc (Agriculture). Similarly, candidates who have passed Class XII examination need apply for Diploma in Engineering.

2. The short- listed candidates would be called for an interview sometime in February, 2003. Candidates applying for MBA may also be required to take the Entrance Examination of the concerned Indian University.

3. Selection will be based on the applicant's academic record and performance in the interview. Names of candidates selected will be displayed on the notice- board of the Education Wing, Embassy of India, Kathmandu. Selection of candidates by the Embassy will not necessarily guarantee admission. Confirmation of admission will be given only after the Indian University accepts the student.

4. A sample of data sheet is attached with this notice. Data-sheet-A in five copies and data- sheet- B in two copies, complete in all respects, along with a original counter foil (Bank Voucher) of depositing NRs 400/- in Account No. 279 of Nepal SBI Bank, Durbar Marg, Kathmandu not later than January 20, 2003. Forms will be accepted on all working days between 1000 hrs to 1300 hrs. Outstation applicants may send Accounts Payee Demand Drafts in favour of Embassy of India, Kathmandu. Address and contact telephone numbers should be indicated clearly on the data-sheet and any subsequent changes should be intimated in writing.
