STATEMENT BY EXTERNAL AFFAIRS MINISTER ON THE KILLINGS
OF 12 NEPALESE IN IRAQ

“The Government of India expresses its deep shock at the tragic killing of 12 innocent Nepali workers in Iraq. I have spoken to Prime Minister Deuba of Nepal today to convey the anguish and deep sympathy felt by the Government and people of India for the people of Nepal, and extended our heartfelt condolences to the bereaved families. Government has also offered to provide any assistance that may be required by Nepal to bring back the bodies of the victims. Appropriate instructions have been issued to our Ambassador in Baghdad.”
