Under the MoU, monitoring committees have been constituted for each project consisting of representatives from the respective hospital management committee, representatives of DUDBC/DDC/Municipality and relevant District authorities to oversee the project, supervise the construction work and ensure effective utilization of the cooperation grant.

Tribhuvan University Teaching Hospital (TUTH) is the first institution to start undergraduate medical education in Nepal in 1978 and post graduation in 1993. It has played a major role in meeting the human resource development needs in the health sector for the country. TUTH was recognized for the first time by National Health Training Centre to conduct emergency obstetrical care training for physicians in December 2004. The additional infrastructure will greatly contribute to the improvement of women health by providing improved maternity services which will also help reduce mortality rate of mothers and infants.

The government health posts one each in VDC Bhuwaneswori, VDC Baseswor and VDC Kusheshwor Dumja in Sindhuli district are in need of augmentation of physical infrastructure. These health posts are providing services to more than 75,000 people of Sindhuli, Kavrepalanchowk and Ramechhap districts. These three health posts will provide improved health services to the people and will stand as another symbol of Nepal-India friendship. This is the first health infrastructure project undertaken by the Government of India in district Sindhuli.

Graho Ghyagling Primary Health Centre, a Government health centre under Ministry of Health & Population, GON was established as a health post 20 years ago and later upgraded to primary health centre 10 years ago. Being located in the heart of the district, it serves 1.5 lakh population of Syangja and adjoining districts of Parbat, Gulmi, Palpa and Tanahun. The new infrastructure will help the health centre overcome the existing space constraint and provide better health care services to the increasing number of patients. This is the first health infrastructure project undertaken by the Government of India in district Syangja.

These three projects are part of the on-going bilateral economic cooperation programme between India and Nepal, under which more than 200 projects are being realized in the sectors of education, health, community development and infrastructure covering almost all the districts of Nepal with an outlay of NRs. 2000 crores. The new hope for peace and development in Nepal ushered in by historic changes and the signing of the Comprehensive Peace Agreement stands to add greater vigour and momentum to developmental cooperation between India and Nepal.
