Indian Assistance of NRs.3,75,26,136/- for Shree Pragati Secondary School, Swathi and Shree Adarsh Secondary School, Parasi in Nawalparasi district

Ambassador of India, Shri Shiv Shankar Mukherjee, inaugurated the school buildings of Shree Pragati Secondary School, Swathi and Shree Adarsh Secondary School, Parasi, Nawalparasi on July 5, 2006 in the presence of the representatives of local Government and community leaders from Nawalparasi at a public gathering. The school building and furniture at a cost of NRs.1,54,88,105/- for Shree Pragati Secondary School, Swathi and school building at a cost of NRs.2,20,38,031/- for Shree Adarsh Secondary School, Parasi, Nawalparasi will greatly contribute to the education of more than 2,000 students of Nawalparasi district by providing improved infrastructure for learning. Due to commitment and monitoring by both governments, the projects saw some savings, which made spending on additional work such as drainage and other facilities for long term maintenance of the schools possible.

These projects are further examples of economic cooperation between the two countries as part of the ongoing implementation of 142 projects by the Government of India in the education, health and infrastructure sectors in 61 districts of Nepal with an outlay of NRs. 1800 crores. India’s commitment in strengthening and diversifying bilateral relations with Nepal through economic cooperation is steadfast and will further strengthen and diversify for the prosperity and development of its people.
