Indian Assistance of NRs.2,94,28,247/- construction of Nursing Campus building for Shree Krishna Prasad Koirala Sewa Guthi, Morang

A Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) has been signed today between Embassy of India and District Development Committee, Morang and Shree Krishna Prasad Koirala Sewa Guthi, Morang regarding Government of India grant assistance of NRs.2,94,28,247/- for construction of Nursing Campus building at Shree Krishna Prasad Koirala Sewa Guthi, Morang.

The Nursing Campus affiliated to Council for Technical Education and Vocational Training and run by Shree Krishna Prasad Koirala Sewa Guthi, Morang is conducting proficiency-level certificate courses in Nursing for women. The building with grant assistance of NRs.2,94,28,247/- from Government of India will enable the Campus to conduct ANM (Auxiliary Nurse Midwife) courses. This is an important project in the area of Health, and will produce 60 nurses per annum, adding to the specialised human resource development in Nepal.

Currently the bilateral cooperation programme between the two countries is witnessing the realisation of 158 projects in education, health and infrastructure sector in all 75 districts of Nepal with an outlay of NRs.1,800 crores. These are ongoing projects, and distinct from NRs.1600 crores economic package announced during the visit of Prime Minister Koirala to India.
