4th Annual friendly match Indian Embassy vs. Nepali Media - won by Nepali Media

The 4th Annual friendly match between Embassy of India and Nepali Media was held today at the Embassy of India grounds in an atmosphere of friendship and gaiety. The match was won by the Nepali Media team by 22 runs. The Nepali media team, led by Sohan Shrestha of Kantipur TV amassed 195 runs in the stipulated 20 overs, powered by a glorious century by Diwakar Gayawali of Kantipur TV. He hit an astounding 6 sixers and a dozen fours to reach this landmark, the first ever in the four year history of this friendly event.

In reply, the Embassy of India team scored 172. Dr. Dhananjaya Nayak was the top scorer with 53.

Ambassador of India, H.E. Mr. Shiv Shankar Mukherjee gave away the prizes. Diwakar Gayawali of Kantipur Television was adjudged the Man of the Match and the Best Batsman. Manjeet Singh of Embassy of India team was declared the Best Bowler and Santosh Ojha of Radio Nepal, the Best Fielder. The two officiating umpires Mr. Adhip Pradhan and Mr. Raman Siwakoti were thanked for their contribution for overseeing this match.

The match brought out and reinforced the spirit of friendliness and camaraderie between Embassy of India and the Nepali Media.
