INDIAN COOPERATION OF NRS. 15,55,019/- FOR MARSYANGDI MULTIPLE CAMPUS, BESISHAHAR, LAMJUNG


The Ambassador of India, Shri Shiv Shankar Mukherjee, laid the foundation stone of the library building for Marsyangdi Multiple Campus on June 12, 2006 in the presence of the representatives of local Government and community leaders from Lamjung at a public gathering. This project costing NRs.15,55,019/- for the construction of the library building will benefit about 500 students by providing an improved learning environment. The students are from Lamjung and the adjoining districts of Tanahun, Gorkha and Manang.

This project, the first India-Nepal educational project in Lamjung, is part of the 138 economic cooperation projects being implemented by the Government of India in the education, health and infrastructure sectors in 61 districts of Nepal with an outlay of NRs. 1800 crores. India’s commitment to strengthening and diversifying bilateral relations with Nepal through economic cooperation is steadfast and will be intensified further in the coming months.
