INDIAN ASSISTANCE OF NRS.2,86,39,425/- FOR MADAN BHANDARI MEMORIAL COLLEGE, KATHMNADU


The Ambassador of India, Shri Shiv Shankar Mukherjee, laid the foundation stone of campus building for Madan Bhandari Memorial College, Kathmandu. The Government of India will extend assistance of NRs.2,86,39,425/- for the construction of four storied campus building, that includes 29 classrooms, library, conference hall and teacher’s room. The need for a campus building had been long felt and the campus building will greatly contribute in giving access to higher education to many more students. More than 1000 students of the campus, coming from all parts of Nepal, would be benefiting from an improved learning environment.

The Government of India is undertaking and implementing 62 school projects in 29 different districts in Nepal, benefiting 64,000 students directly. This is part of the ongoing implementation of 137 projects by the Government of India in the education, health and infrastructure sectors in 61 districts of Nepal with an outlay of NRs. 1800 crores. India’s commitment in strengthening and diversifying bilateral relations with Nepal through economic cooperation is steadfast and will further strengthen and diversify in the future
