INDIAN AMBASSADOR INAUGURATES AUDITORIUM BUILT WITH GRANT ASSISTANCE OF NRs. 53,32,449/-


His Excellency, Shri Shiv Shankar Mukherjee, Ambassador of India, inaugurated the auditorium of Drabya Shah Multiple Campus, Gorkha district on May 18, 2006. The auditorium was built with Government of India Grant Assistance of NRs. 53,32,449/- under the India Nepal Economic Cooperation Programme.

The auditorium will directly benefit the 400 students of Drabya Shah Multiple Campus and will add to the educational infrastructure in Gorkha district with a population 3,03,651. The construction of auditorium of Drabya Shah Multiple Campus, Gorkha is one of the 62 such school projects being undertaken and implemented by Government of India in as many as 29 different districts of Nepal. All these school projects will directly benefit 64,000 students in Nepal apart from bringing economic development and strengthening the educational infrastructure in the respective districts.

At present, India's commitment under the bilateral economic cooperation programme is NRs. 1800 Crores for 137 projects in education, health and infrastructure related areas.
