INDIAN ASSISTANCE FOR NRs.28,60,677/- FOR CONSTRUCTION OF SCIENCE LABORATORY, LIBRARY AND A HALL FOR SHREE SECONDRAY SCHOOL, SIMARABHWANIPUR, RAUTAHAT.


Ambassador of India Shri Shiv Shankar Mukherjee, laid the foundation stone for construction of science laboratory, library and a hall for Shree Secondary School, Simarabhawanipur, Rautahat on May 25, 2006 in the presence of the representatives of local government and school authorities.

The Students and faculty of Shree Secondary School, Simarabhawanipur will shortly be provided with science laboratory, library and a hall. This project of NRs.28,60,677/- funded by the India-Nepal Economic Cooperation Programme is targeted for 1200 students form class 1 to 10. The school is one of the oldest school in the area. In addition to this project, the Embassy is also undertaking two more education projects, Shree Saraswati Higher Secondary School, Pipra-Bhaloia and Juddha Secondary School, Gaur, in Rautahat District.

As parts of its commitment to strengthening educational infrastructure in Nepal under the India Nepal Economic Programme, the Government of India has been undertaking and implementing 62 school projects in 29 different districts in Nepal. These school projects will be benefiting 64, 000 students in Nepal directly.

Through this project, India’s commitment to strengthen bilateral relations between the two countries through economic cooperation in education, health and other infrastructure is reinforced.
