INDIAN COOPERATION OF NRS. 25,08,243/- FOR BHERI BRIDHA ASHRAM, NEPALGUNJ, BANKE


A Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) has been signed today between the Embassy of India, the District Development Committee, Banke and Bheri Bridha Ashram, Nepalgunj, Banke. The Government of India will be extending assistance of NRs. 25,08,243/- for construction of a 7 room building.

A monitoring committee has been constituted for the project consisting of the Vice-chairperson, Bheri Bridha Ashram, Engineer, DDC/DTO, Banke, and District Health Officer, Banke to oversee the project and supervise construction and ensure proper utilization of the grant assistance.

This project will address the need of the old and destitute senior citizens of Bheri Bridha Ashram. This project, fifth in Banke district, is part of the 138 economic cooperation projects being implemented by the Government of India in the education, health and infrastructure sectors in 61 districts of Nepal with an outlay of NRs. 1800 crores. India’s commitment to strengthening and diversifying bilateral relations with Nepal through economic cooperation is steadfast and will be intensified further in the coming months.
