Indian cooperation of NRs. 2,57,42,658/- for Bhairahwa Multiple Campus, Siddarthanagar, Rupendehi & NRs.20,12,732/- for Shree Ram Naresh Yadav Secondary School, Dhakdhai, Rupendehi.


Ambassador of India, Shri Shiv Shankar Mukherjee, laid the foundation stones of the postgraduate building and girls’ hostel for Bhairahwa Multiple Campus, Siddarthanagar, Rupendehi and computer and library block for Shree Ram Naresh Yadav Secondary School, Dhakhai, Rupendehi on June 19, 2006 in the presence of the representatives of local Government and community leaders from Rupendehi at a public gathering. These projects at a cost of NRs.2,57,42,658/- for construction of postgraduate building, girls’ hostel and indoor hall for Bhairiahawa Multiple Campus and NRs.20,12,732/- for computer and library block for Shree Ram Naresh Yadav Secondary School, Rupendehi will greatly contribute to the higher education of more than 3,500 students of Rupendehi and adjoining districts of Nawalparasi and Kapilvastu, by providing improved infrastructure for learning.

These projects, are part of the 139 economic cooperation projects being implemented by the Government of India in the education, health and infrastructure sectors in 61 districts of Nepal with an outlay of NRs. 1800 crores. These projects reflect India’s commitment to strengthen the bonds of cooperation between India and Nepal to strengthen infrastructure in this vital sector, a commitment that was reiterated at the highest level of the political leadership of both countries during the recent visit to India by the Prime Minister of Nepal, Shri Girija Prasad Koirala.
