INDIAN ASSISTANCE OF NRS.14.2 MILLION FOR SCHOOL BUILDING IN DISTRICT SIRAHA

A Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) among Embassy of India, Kathmandu, the District Development Committee, Siraha and the school authorities of Babuji Ray Junai Thakur Nimna Madhyamik Vidyalaya, Fulbariya, Siraha was signed today for construction of school building for the above school. This India-Nepal Economic Cooperation Project will benefit 755 students pursuing their education. The school project, for which Government of India has committed funding for NRs. 1,41,69,124 is expected to be completed within a span of about one year. This Project is a reiteration of the commitment of the Government of India to the people of Nepal for continued cooperation in education, health and infrastructure - the three key sectors of economic development.

At present, alongwith this school, there are fifty one school buildings being constructed under the India-Nepal Economic Cooperation Programme in 26 districts of Nepal. In the District of Siraha, the Government of India has recently just completed another project in the health sector with the construction of “Blood Transfusion Centre for Nepal Red Cross Society, Lahan."
