INDIAN ASSISTANCE OF NRS. 9.13 MILLION FOR SCHOOL BUILDING AT LAXMIPUR, DHANUSHA UNDER INDO-NEPAL COOPEATION PROGRAMME

An MOU was signed on 16.9.05 between the district authorities of Dhanusha, the Embassy of India and the Principal of Rashtriya Primary School, Laxmipur, Dhanusha, for construction of school building and barbed wire fencing. Government of India would be funding this project under India-Nepal cooperation programme for NRs. 90,13,746/-.

Keeping in mind the need to focus attention on education and its infrastructure that is closely linked to a country’s progress and development, India as a friendly and close neighbour of Nepal continues with its commitment to share its experience and expertise in this sector for Nepal’s development and progress. The present cooperation is expected to not only benefit around 500 students of the school but also encourage students of the nearby VDCs to come to it for studies. With this project India has 5 education and health projects in Dhanusha district, which will benefit a total of 2,62,498 students. Through it, Government of India reiterates its commitment to the Government of Nepal to continue bilateral economic cooperation in education, health and infrastructure.
