Indian Assistance for School in Udayapur

           A Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) has been signed between the Embassy of India and HMGN for construction of a school building, science laboratory, library building and hall for the Ambebar Janata Secondary School, Rajbas, Triyuga Municpality, Udayapur that will be built with an Indian funding of NRs. 1,28,07,803/- (Rupees One Crore Twenty Eight Lakh Seven Thousand Eight Hundred and Three). Education is pivotal sector in the development of human resources of any country.  The Government of India has recognized this as a priority area and considers it as one of the key areas for cooperation amongst its neighbours.

           This assistance will directly benefit over a 1000 students and also serve the over 3 lac residents of the neighbouring areas of district Udayapur. The objective of Indian Cooperation Programme has been to supplement the efforts of HMGN in the development of Nepal’s social infrastructure.  The projects implemented under the cooperation programme are mutually beneficial, encourage increased interaction at all levels between India and Nepal and strengthen our bonds of friendship.  India’s role and participation in the economic development of Nepal has been historic, and widespread.

 The economic cooperation extends to three sectors that India and Nepal have identified as core areas of development i.e. education, health and infrastructure.  Since 2003, 46 schools have been extended assistance for substantially upgrading their facilities. This is apart from the technical training and scholarship programmes Government of India offers under this programme
