Assistance For Nepalganj School

The Government of India has sanctioned assistance of NRs. 27,62,684/- for the construction of a classroom block and provision of books for Pashupati Siksha Mandir in Ranitalaw, Nepalganj. A Memorandum of Understanding was signed to this effect today between the Embassy of India; District Development Committee, Banke and Pashupati Siksha Mandir. The immediate beneficiaries of this project would be the children of Banke district, which has a population of over 4 lac 34 thousand.

An Oversight Committee consisting of the Chairman of DDC, Banke; President of the School Management Committee; Civil Engineer, DDC/DTO, Banke and District Education Officer has been constituted and it will oversee the project and supervise the utilization of the grant assistance.

It is expected that this additional infrastructure for Pashupati Siksha Mandir will create a more conducive environment for teaching and learning at the school. Through the programmes of India-Nepal Economic Cooperation both countries recognize the importance of developing educational infrastructure for overall development and prosperity of Nepal.

This project reflects India's commitment to strengthen people to people relations, especially in the educational sector.
