Mobile Dental Van For Kantipur School Of Dentistry & Dental Hospital

Ambassador of India, Mr. Shiv Shankar Mukherjee today handed over a Mobile Dental Van to the Kantipur School of Dentistry and Dental Hospital at Maharajgunj in Kathmandu. This state-of-the-art Mobile Dental Van will have the capacity to extend dental health services to remote and far flung areas of Nepal. This assistance is worth about Rs. 20,00,000 and is part of the India-Nepal Economic Co-operation Programme.

Health care is vital for nation building. It is the aim of developing countries to ensure that health care is affordable and within easy reach of its citizens. Towards this end India has developed a concept of bringing health services to people's doorstep rather than people going to health care institutions. This Mobile Dental Van is a manifestation of this scheme.

As a close and friendly neighbour, Government of India hopes that under the India Nepal Economic Cooperation programme, some of the developing concerns that are shared by both countries are addressed by focusing on the sectors of health, education and infrastructure.

The Government of India reiterates its commitment to strengthen cooperation with Nepal in the health sector through presentation of such dental vans, ambulances and setting up of other health infrastructure in Nepal.
