Drinking water project at Dhankuta - Indian assitance of Nrs. 71,63,463 |

Deputy Chief of Mission, Embassy of India today inaugurated the drinking water project at Dhankuta with a GOI funding of NRs.71,63,463 that will bring benefit to more than 20,000 population in 7 wards, especially, villages predominantly inhabited by the retired Indian Army personnel. This scheme aims at providing portable, piped water to the villages. To date over 1000 such projects costing more than Nrs.100 million, have been successfully executed. The scheme entails providing stores of HDP pipes and fittings, GI pipes, cement, tap sets, heating plates, CGI sheets, water tanks, various types of pumps etc. to villagers, who are execute the projects, that have been selected and planned by them. Thus, this scheme ensures community participation right from the planning to completion stage. |
