INDIAN ASSISTANCE OF NRs.2,99,73, 484/- FOR CONSTRUCTIONOF GIRLS HOSTEL AT TRIBHUVAN UNIVERSITY

An MOU was signed between the Embassy of India, Kirtipur Municipality and Tribhuvan University for construction of girls hostel at Tribhuvan University. India’s association with the oldest and most prestigious academic institution in Nepal with over 200,000 students enrolled, transcends decades, with setting up of hostel facilities, library and specialist departments in Biology, Chemistry, etc. in the lat 50s/ early 60s. At the request of Vice-Chancellor, Tribhuvan University, Government of India has committed to NRs. 2,99, 73, 484/- for construction of the much needed girls hostel that will help give students coming from outside Kathmandu to study in this prestigious institution. Providing a conducive and secure environment to pursue higher academic studies is one of the key objectives of the Tribhuvan University. This will now be fulfilled through this project. The project, to be executed by Kirtipur Municipality will be yet another landmark in India-Nepal Economic Cooperation.
