Books and Equipment for Sirjana College |
||||
Ambassador of India, Mr. Shiv Shankar Mukherjee today handed over an etching press and art books to the Sirjana College of Fine Arts in Kathmandu. This assistance is worth nearly NRs. 2, 50,000/- and is part of the India-Nepal Economic Cooperation Programme. Srijana Art College now becomes the only non-governmental art institution to have an etching press. The art books presented will substantially increase the collection of the students library in the college. A shared culture and tradition underpins the close bonds of friendship and cooperation between India and Nepal. Exchanges in the area of culture are vibrant and dynamic with a large number of students from Nepal availing training in India in the fine arts, music and dance on India Government scholarships/self-finance schemes. Close cooperation in these fields has brought many personalities in films, music and fine arts to the forefront in both countries. The Government of India through this and other similar projects renews its commitment to Nepal to strengthen the bonds of economic cooperation for the prosperity of the Nepali people. |
