Super Diamona Powered Glider Expedition to commemorate Diamond Jubilee of National Defence Academy of India |

National Defence Academy (NDA) of India, which is located at Pune, is celebrating its Diamond Jubilee this year. To commemorate this event, NDA is organizing a Super Dimona Powered Glider air expedition to South and South East Asian Countries covering Nepal, Myanmar, Thailand, Malaysia and Singapore from 03rd November to December 01st, 2008. The expedition arrived in Kathmandu on 5th November 2008. Nepal, a close and friendly neighbour of India, is the first country to be covered by the expedition which is led by Wing Commander Om Prakash of the NDA and comprises Cadet Rohit Sekhar. On arrival at Kathmandu, the team was received by the Defence Attaché of the Embassy of India. On 6th November 2008, the Chief of Army staff of Nepalese Army Gen. Rookmangud Katawal, who had taken his initial military training at NDA during 1966-68, flagged off the expedition from Nepal to other countries in the presence of the Ambassador of India to Nepal Shri Rakesh Sood. |
