Embassy of India, in association with the Ministry of Local Development of Nepal, and in collaboration with B.P. Koirala India-Nepal Foundation, is organizing a Workshop for the Local Development Officers (LDOs) of Nepal on Saturday, 26th July 2008 (Shrawan 11, 2065) at Gokarna Forest Club Resort, Gokarna, Kathmandu. The Workshop follows the study visits of all 75 LDOs of Nepal to India in five batches for exchange of experience and ideas on development administration.

The Workshop will be inaugurated at 0845 hrs on Saturday, 26th July 2008 (Shrawan 11, 2065). The Ambassador of India and Co-Chairperson of B.P. Koirala India-Nepal Foundation Shri Rakesh Sood, H.E. Shri Deependra Bickram Thapa, Secretary in the office of the Prime Minister and Council of Ministers of Nepal and H.E. Shri Ganga Dutta Awasthi, Secretary in the Ministry of Local Development, Government of Nepal will be among the dignitaries who will address the inaugural session.

The inaugural session will be followed by five working sessions till 1800 hrs.

Journalists are cordially invited to cover the inaugural session from 0845-0930 hrs hours on 26th July 2008. Journalists covering developmental issues are welcome to stay for the working sessions.
